Detailed overview of what the app does.

offline is built around one rule: people meet in person, not via chat. Every feature either reduces the friction of meeting up or makes meeting safer. Limits included.

Events

Three types of meetups, three ways to join

Private events with a refundable €4 deposit — or with no deposit at all, if that is what the organizer picks. Public free. And paid events run by venues.

  • Private. The €4 deposit comes back in full if your attendance is confirmed. The organizer pays it too and is settled by exactly the same rules, or they can open the event with no deposit. A recurring series is available for private events only.
  • Public free. Open to everyone, no deposit. Creating one costs the organizer a one-off €4 so the map does not fill up with spam.
  • Public paid. Tickets sold by a venue. Creating the event costs the venue one ticket price.
  • Quorum. On private and paid events the organizer sets a minimum head count (at least 3). If it is not reached 24 hours before the start, the event cancels itself. We refund deposits on private events in full; on paid events the venue handles ticket refunds directly.
Discovery

A ranked local feed and a map — not an infinite stream

The app ships both, and the feed is the landing tab. It is ranked, and we would rather say so than pretend there is no order to it.

  • Ranking that gets you out of the house. What you see is ordered by your own taps, the interests you picked, how close an event is and how soon it starts. An organizer can pay €2 to lift their own event for 7 days, and that paid boost outranks organic signal. What we do not do is optimise for time spent in the app — and Settings has a switch that turns personalisation off entirely.
  • A map with ~78,000 curated Slovak places. Our own venue database. Parks and outdoor spots are first-class pins, not an afterthought. When a place has an event coming up, its pin lights up.
  • An event anywhere. Long-press anywhere on the map to create an event at a place no database lists — a bench, a park, a square.
  • Filters and saved venues. Time window of today / 3 / 7 / 14 / 30 days, venue type, event type, category, and a women-only toggle. Star a place to save it.
Attendance

Attendance is confirmed on the spot

Check-in is the one thing that unlocks the swipe deck and the ability to review a venue. It is also the condition for getting your deposit back.

  • GPS check-in within 200 m. The distance to the venue is recomputed on the server, so nobody can confirm attendance from home. Plan around it: the radius really is 200 metres, not a kilometre.
  • When GPS fails. Indoors or on a weak signal you ask the other confirmed attendees, or the organizer, to vouch for you. One confirmation is enough; if anyone disputes it, the organizer decides.
  • Deposit settlement. The money does not come back the moment you walk in. Deposits are settled after the event ends plus a 7-day window: confirmed attendance means the full deposit back, unconfirmed means it is forfeited.
After the event

A swipe deck of the people who were there

Met someone interesting? After a private event a deck of the other attendees opens. Yes / No. A mutual yes opens a private chat.

  • No profiles upfront. You meet in person first. You choose afterwards.
  • Confirmed attendees only. The deck unlocks only for people whose attendance was confirmed, and it only contains people from the same room.
  • No other route to a DM. A direct chat opens through a mutual yes and nothing else. There is no "message this person" button anywhere in the app.
Conversation

A chat per event, encrypted messages between two people

Every event carries its own chat for the people going. A private chat after a match is a different thing entirely — we cannot read those.

  • Event group chat. Text, photos, voice notes and polls. Only people signed up to that event can read it, and it freezes once the event is over.
  • End-to-end encrypted direct messages. In a one-to-one chat the text you write and any location you share are sealed on your device, with a key that never leaves your phone. Two honest limits: photos and voice notes are not encrypted, and group chats are deliberately readable so a report about them can be acted on.
  • Reactions, replies, pinning. Emoji reactions, quoting a message, a 15-minute edit window and one pinned message per chat. Group chats add @mentions.
Calendar

Everything you signed up for, in one place

A dedicated tab with a list view and a real month grid, so nothing gets lost back in the feed.

  • Three tabs. Upcoming / Past / Saved. Switch between the list and the month, and swipe a saved event away to drop it.
  • Actions on the card. A check-in button appears once the check-in window opens. After the event a button to review the venue takes its place.
  • Calendar export. Export your upcoming events as an .ics file and open them in Apple or Google Calendar.
Safety

Rules, not promises

Server-verified attendance, blocking that works both ways, reports that reach a human, and women-only events the rest of the app cannot see.

  • Blocking works both ways. A blocked person cannot message you or join your event, and the chat you shared is deleted along with its attachments.
  • Women only. To everyone else the event does not exist — not the listing, not the attendee list — and a shared link to it returns a 404.
  • Reports reach a human. You can report a person or an event. Once 3 different people report the same target, the case escalates into a moderation queue. Suspending an account is always a human decision, never a script.
  • Opt-in 18+. Adult content is off by default and appears only if you turn it on yourself. An account under 18 cannot turn it on.
For venues

A profile, ticketing, and the door

Bar, café, club, studio? Build a profile, sell tickets, and scan people in at the door. offline takes no commission on sales.

  • Venue profile. Cover, gallery, structured opening hours including overnight shifts, amenities, followers, reviews.
  • 0% commission. Ticket money goes straight to your own Stripe account. Stripe's processing fee is withheld from the transfer — at least 1.5% + €0.25, so a €10 ticket pays out at most €9.60. Cards that cost more to process (non-EEA or corporate, for example) carry a higher fee, and the difference is deducted shortly after the payment. Payouts run weekly on a Monday anchor.
  • Door check-in. The guest shows their profile QR, you scan it, and the app tells you whether they hold a ticket and shows their photo so you can match the face. Add staff by scanning their QR. Mobile app only.
  • Reviews from people who showed up. Only someone whose attendance at your event was verified on the server can write one. They are social proof for the next person — they do not change how events rank.
  • Stats. Followers, events and attendees, average rating, profile views. It is a snapshot you pull to refresh, and the revenue figure is an estimate that does not yet subtract the Stripe fee.
